Youth Tech Enrichment & Training

Youth courses are designed to give kids a firm grasp of computer technology and its use in academic and real-world scenarios. Students will leave the course with a deeper understanding of the technology they interact with on a daily basis. They will also gain a level of expertise that will enable them to excel in the classroom, open up doors to future internship/employment opportunities, as well as utilize these skillsets to become young entrepreneurs.

Game Changer's Club (GCC)

Youth: Ages 10+

In 2022, the Video Game Industry earned $151 Billion and that number is predicted to grow to $256 Billion by 2025. Because of this, there is a high demand for game makers, testers, and even professional players (aka Esports Athletes). 

Our Game Changer's Club (GCC) course provides youth with a fun and engaging introduction to the Video Game Industry by exploring the technologies that make great gaming happen.

Game Changer's Club students explore:

  • The Fundamentals of Coding 

  • Graphic Design Concepts

  • Computer Hardware Basics

  • Sound Engineering Fundamentals

  • Creative Writing and Storytelling 

  • Competitive Gaming and E-sports Fundamentals

Y-Tech STEAM Sampler

Youth: Ages 10+

Did you know that careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) are not only in high demand but also consistently rank among the top-paying and most rewarding professions? STEM professionals are the architects of our technological future, driving innovation and shaping industries across the globe.

Our Youth Technology (Y-Tech) STEAM Sampler course ignites the spark of innovation in the next generation of STEM and "digital creative" professionals by integrating elements of the visual, performing and literary arts to introduce core STEM concepts.

Y-Tech STEAM Sampler covers topics like:

  • Lego Robotics - (Visual Design, Engineering, and Coding)

  • Digital Art/Graphic Design - (Visual Art, Digital design tools and Software) 

  • Web and App Design -  (Coding, User experience, and Graphics)

  • Drone Piloting -  (Videography, Photography, and Aeronautics)

  • Audio Engineering with Audacity - (Music and Audio Engineering) 

  • Digital Storytelling (Creative Writing and Coding)

Influencer's Academy (IA)

Youth: Ages 10+

The rise of social media influencers has opened up exciting and lucrative career prospects, with many influencers successfully turning their passion into a full-time profession. Brands increasingly recognize the authentic connection influencers have with their audiences, leading to a surge in partnerships and collaborations.

Our Influencer's Academy course teaches youth how they can positively step into the spotlight and unlock the secrets to social media success. Along the way, they will also learn the technical side of creating viral-worthy content.

Influencer's Academy students will:

  • Discover the production side of becoming a social media influencer, from photo and film editing to marketing one's brand.

  • Find their voice, cultivate their talents, and develop their expertise in a topic.

  • Identify strategies to operate safely and securely online.

  • Use problem-solving techniques and team-building activities to develop their social and emotional skills.

Youth Enrichment Workhops

Our youth workshops are designed to teach young students (ages 10 and up) tech-related topics in a fun, creative atmosphere. The duration of each workshop typically runs between 3-6 hours, with each student having completed a project that they may be able to share with their families and peers by the end of the session.

Technology Lab

In this course students will acquire the essential skills and information needed to install, upgrade, repair, configure, troubleshoot, optimize and perform preventative maintenance of basic personal computer hardware and operating systems. These essential skills form the foundation for higher level technical training and entry-level IT jobs. The course includes hands-on labs that provide practical experience in PC repair, home networking and mobile device maintenance.

Digital Storytelling

In this adventure, novice programmers will create fun animated stories while learning essential creative writing techniques and programming concepts with the Scratch coding language. Using sprites and blocks, this drag-and-drop platform developed by MIT sets a foundation of computational thinking—an essential skill in today’s tech-driven world—by using bright visuals and engaging design.

Cyber Detective Squad

In this course future cyber defenders will gain an understanding of common threats faced today in cyberspace. Students will learn the principles and practices of computer system security including operating system security, network security, software security and web security. Topics will include common attack techniques, network access control, basic cryptography and network intrusion detection.
